Half November, I’ve made the hardest decision yet in my life, which was to quit a career of a professional ballet dancer. 16th December I performed my last performance and straight after it, still crying, got into a car and went straight to the Warsaw airport with my Boyfriend.
With the flight I was opening the new chapter, and I was opening it huge. We were heading towards Tanzania, Arusha, from we were having a scheduled 5-day safari trip, to National Parks: Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Mayara Lake. We were planning and saving for this trip since a very long time, and the expectations I’ve had were enormous. I never shot wildlife photography in my life, though I didn’t have any relevant equipment, but I took my sigma 24-70 and borrowed an old, manual 200 4.0. But it was not meant to be a photography trip. I just wanted to have a great time and, If I manage, to capture something for memories.
It was right after very rainy season in Tanzania, and the first thing that surprised me, was the overwhelming, fresh greenery of the landscape. I was prepared for dry, sandy savannah but got the abundance of life in Flora and Fauna. The beauty of a overwhelming power of wild Nature was enormous. Every time I get back to these days, I have chills. The wilderness, the joy of so many baby animals thriving and enjoying their first moments in a land not touched by human hand.. The Masai People, who never agreed to align with comfort of civilization and decide to live with the Nature, just like their ancestors.. The hours of driving through the landscape not ever touched with human hand, it was a life-changing experience. In the land of African savanna, a man will not survive if alone, he needs another people and only if they work together, they can thrive and survive. I cannot even explain how meaningful this trip was.. And, most important, it gave me hope and love for the World and for the People.
